Welcome to the new bemanistyle

It’s been about 2 years since we went offline for a number of reasons, some of which I’ve divulged in that time. Largely, I felt that things just really weren’t happening the way I had envisioned and needed some time to re-assess the situation and find some new collaborators for the site. In that time we’ve worked on a number of starts and stops for the site, and ultimately decided that the best way to move forward was to bring things back to basics and build out from there.

You may notice that the site is pretty bare bones right now. That’s entirely on purpose.

We felt that the most important things for our mission statement were the headlines and forums, something that we’ve always done a lot better than other features on previous versions of the site. We focused on getting those going (even going as far as to dig into our archives and start adding news from years gone by) so we could get the website back online for the people who share our vision for things. Other features will be coming down the line, but only as we feel they’re truly ready for prime time. No half-baked ideas, or half-assed features just for the sake of filling in space. In the meantime we’re going to focus on delivering fresh, original editorial content alongside our personal blend of news delivery.

Something to note (because I’m sure it’ll be asked a million times), the simfile database is not coming back in any shape or form as the site goes on. We removed it long before the site went down originally, and for a variety of reasons (both legal and monetary) we’re not bringing it back. We still appreciate the passion and creativity that simfile authors deliver to the genre as a whole, but ultimately we just don’t feel like it fits in with the vision of the site going forward. Apologies in advance to everyone who was hoping to see it return.

All that being said, we hope you enjoy the new version of the site as much as we’re going to enjoy working on it. It’s a very exciting time to be a music game fan right now, and we couldn’t be happier to get back in the trenches and play along with you all!

  1. The return of Bemanistyle coupled with the opening of Round 1 near me has given me a burst of music game appreciation.

    Incoming new good ol’ days?

  2. Simfile database is what people kept bugging about? Really?

I figured people would demand the Tatsujin video section back. :v

  3. Well, I was not expecting that the simfile database would come back since I have various sources to get them, but it’s very nice that bemanistyle came back with news and stuff because is that what I missed a lot.

    Happy comeback bemanistyle.
