The Famitsu Game Rankings are a list of weekly best selling games, and the results for the week ending August 2 have been released.
It comes as no surprise that Animal Crossing – Happy Name Designer (a new release) dominated the charts, selling half a million units. But, in terms of rhythm game titles, IA/VT -Colorful- appeared at number 3, selling just over 30,000 units. This, after the game suffered countless delays since its initially-planned release date of July 31, 2014.
Rhythm Tengoku: The Best Plus (known as Rhythm Heaven in the west), kept steady, at number 5, selling 16,000 units for the week, totalling 384,000 units.
And wrapping up the rhythm games in the ranking, Taiko no Tatsujin V Version dropped a few ranks, to number 15, selling a meager 6,000 units for the week, totalling 68,000 units.
IA/VT -Colorful- is produced by MarvelousAQL and features over 60 songs from the popular Vocaloid, IA. IA/VT is available for the PlayStation Vita.
Rhythm Tengoku: The Best Plus is produced by Nintendo and features over 100 minigames, many new to the series. Rhythm Tengoku is available for the Nintendo 3DS.
Taiko no Tatsujin V Version is pronounced by Bandai Namco and is currently on its 4th DLC pack. Taiko no Tatsujin is available for the PlayStation Vita.
