Harmonix today brought backers of a revived Amplitude project up to speed on a few minor updates leading up to the game’s planned January release.
Using the technology available on the current formats, Harmonix reported it has been able to implement new track effects into the game. The team had previously developed concepts of track surfaces and destruction that weren’t included in previous versions, and are finally able to put them to use.
The company also announced one of Amplitude’s music tracks is playable in Rock Band 4. The song is titled “Recession,” and a short preview video was released for the song as it appears in Amplitude.
Early access backers are planned to have access to the title in December, and Harmonix reported items such as upcoming events and new song reveals are still on tap leading up to the game’s launch.
