Old School Musical beta kicks off

Studio La Mortared reported it has begun a closed beta for its upcoming rhythm game title Old School Musical.

The title is labeled by the developer as “a tribute to video game history and chiptune soundtracks.” The studio began giving away invitations to the beta on the official Old School Musical Facebook page.

The goal in holding the beta is to produce a first public demo of the game to be released in early 2016 with the launch of a crowdfunding campaign. Players are able to unlock up to four exclusive levels, each inspired by a notable video game.

Old School Musical follows the characters Tib and Rob, who seek video game worlds for the source of all bugs. The final build is expected to offer more than 20 original levels, a scripted story and mini games.

More information is available on the Old School Musical official web site.
