Hatsune Miku: Project Diva’s General Producer Hiroshi Utsumi Resigns

Hiroshi Utsumi was the game series general producer and has resigned from his position at Sega due to challenging himself in new fields. The official Sega feat. Hatsune Miku blog says Utsumi has left Sega as of June 30.

“I think everyone could guess a number of reasons [why I left], but it is not that I have to do something serious, or cannot take the responsibility, or am more or less tired,” Utsumi said. “This is just my own selfishness in wanting to challenge new fields, and I give my utmost thanks to this company and my team members who have heard me out.”

With Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone that recently launched in Japan and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in the United States and Japan in August, we’re seeing the Project Diva series thrive more than ever! Let’s not also forget Project Diva Future Live which is still planned for PlayStation VR launching in Japan on October 13! Utsumi does promise “various projects” in the planning room as the Hatsune Miku 10th anniversary kicks off in 2017.
