After the way the features work are set in stone, then they go to alpha and the features wont change how they work in case it is causing too many bugs. Alphas are considered, for the most part, stable builds. | OK I think I get it now. So these CVS builds aren't alphas. And alphas are stable.
But someone (I think Takuya) said that the "huge changes between alphas" scared him. So that he wouldn't theme for 4.0 until RC1.
I don't like waiting for RC1
But it will be fun when RC1 comes, because then I can use GROOVE 2.3!! Ohhhh YESSSSS!!!! |
Well, while alphas do have large changes between them, not every change effects themes. a22 to a24 was a huge change ( mostly sm online related ) but then after a24 there wasn't any changes that came to mind other than bug fixes. if you find an a24 theme, it should work on 3.9final
Oh and alphas are RELATIVELY stable. alphas could still crash but release canidates wouldn't.
SO to recap
CVS builds - Crash 50% of the time or 100% of the time for 50% of users
alpha builds - Crash 10% of the time or 100% of the time for 10% of users
RC builds - Crash 1% of the time or 100% of the time for 1% of users
and . . .
final builds - Crash 0.01% of the time for 0.1% of users
