Not really, It seems most releases of bemani still have the same great gameplay, with a different selection of music. Music is entirely subjective, so you have the same great gameplay, yet the music might be different for each. So really any game could be the worst or best depending on the player. Hence they are going to be doing genre themed version of Guitar Hero. GH Country, Metal, etc...

I hate to break it to ya, but X-Play is a review show meant to cater to the greater audience, not just anime fans, and not just Bemani fans. Not everyone in this world is a Bemani buff. They're reviews are unbiased, from a median standpoint, telling it like it is, informing the general consensus (or those not as informed as yourselves) on whether or not a game is actually any good. They're doing there job, so quit whining

I understand what your driving at, but their "median" just seems to be a word for "mainstream dumbass who don't play video games". So they aren't really balanced and fair, they cater to dumbasses who think Madden 216500 is the "Greatest game evar!!!!111" and that Grand Theft Auto is a way of life. If they actually reviewed unbiased with a true casual gamer approach, I think they would have a lot less critism.

You seem to like to point out Guitar Hero a lot. Well, my friends, whether you like it or not, it is a great game that set fresh presedence in the music game genre. Come on, how many iterations of Bemani games have they're been now? It's all pretty much the same freakin' game, with new music or some BS gimmick attached to it. Guitar Hero, my friends, was new. Bemani cannot be king forever, as harsh as that may sound.

I agree with you, but you must realize that Guitar Hero is a spinoff of Guitar Freaks. Much like ITG to DDR. Also when the next sequel of GH comes out, and probably many to follow, isn't it still going to be "pretty much the same freakin' game, with new music or some BS gimmick attached to it" ?

And in closing, I'd just like to say: What the hell does it matter? They could rate the game a 1, and you'd all still buy it, just cause it's got the Bemani label on it; The exact same way I run out and buy a game with Square Enix on the side (yeah, I bought Dirge of Cerberus :P). We're all a bunch of suckers, plain and simple.

You're just defeating your arguement. I thought FF7 was ok, but still vastly overrated. But, I didn't buy that horrible quick buck game because I knew it was a bunch of crap(Dirge of Cerberus). Not everyone is a fanboy to a company.

I know it sounds like blatant fanboyism, but most bemani is still a good solid game dispite its numerous sequels. Not much changes in basic gameplay, like you've said, and if it still has good gameplay, does it matter if this is the 14th game in the series?
