Seeing as how we were all too young to smoke cigarettes (and that it was against the rules), someone came up with a plan for how to smoke in the courtyard without getting caught.
They would take an empty soda can and poke a hole in the bottom. Then, they would light a cigarette and push it up through the hole, holding it in with their fingers at the bottom. To the casual observer, it would look like you were holding a can of Pepsi. But when they put the can to their lips, they would get a taste of wonderful Marlboro goodness. |
This is actually an age-old thing you would do with joints at concerts. I think you can see some people doing it on a Grateful Dead DVD I have, actually.
Similarly, I had a buddy who would always show up to local concerts with a big ass paper cup of Coke (like you get at a movie theater) with a lid and a straw. If anyone wanted a sip, they drank from the straw and tasted Coke. But the straw actually led to a small cup inside of the big cup that he was holding, which was filled with liquor (usually vodka). So he would pop the lid off and take a swig, and get the vodka. No one ever knew he was doing it. He never got caught. Hell, he probably still does it at concerts at his college...
