What? The idea was to just have the ducks in the courtyard until the kids could release them at lunch. A janitor that wasn't paying attention went to clean the glass door and didn't know that the ducks were flightless (we have ducks in there all the time). The things had been cooped up for an hour or more and seized the opportunity to move somewhere new. None of the students intentionally let them into the building from the courtyard.
