My words exactly. The next generation is an over-hyped, overrated (HELLO RANDOM), worthless commercialized gimmick which will appeal to morons and the hoard. I'm going to sit here and spectate my ass off until there's actually games worth buying.

The 360 has not taken off the ground. Oblivion, Chromehounds and a couple of other titles does not make it worth the price it is, nor is it worth purchasing a HDTV for. No console is worth purchasing a HDTV for. Component is fine. People are just extremely fussy with their choices and can't seem to be satisfied with the bare essentials these days.

I honestly can't see a reason to purchase the 360 at the moment. I would if Killer Instinct 3, Banjo Threeie and a few more titles that I would be highly interested in, actually came out. But that's not the case so far, and it'll be exactly a year since the xbox 360's launch in one month.

The Wii, I don't know. I like the idea of the backwards compatibility, but I can't honestly say I bothered with Nintendo all that much. Plus, I'm an international gamer. I have games from all around the world, and I was highly disappointed when they mentioned that there would be regional lockout - and then they turned around and said it would be region free. And then oops, it's actually locked out. Make up your fucking minds, Nintendo.

The PS3's going to be expensive. Not to mention it won't be released down under until March 07. I'm not interested in any of the titles so far apart from Zone of the Enders 3, and as I've previously said, buying a HDTV for a console isn't worth it. And in saying that, buying a console for a single game isn't worth it either.

I'm very happy with my current consoles and collection. I have enough games that I need to complete, and they'll take me a few years, at least. I don't have a massively oversized collection like some, because I have real obscure taste in games. But I'd like to complete my current Gamecube, xbox and PS2 collection before possibly moving foward.

I'm also more partial to 2D games, which is something you almost will not see on the PS3, because Sony haet 2D. Nintendo might end up getting a few 2D games on the Wii, but I doubt there will be very many. I already have all of the Metal Slug titles, and I can't see how people will be able to play that fucking shit with the Wii remote. It seems ridiculous. I don't want to wave my arms around just to throw grenades. The Metal Slug series is hard enough as it is without gimmicks coming into the picture.

I think I'm in the same boat as you, actually. Nothing seems appealing to me so far, aside from what I've mentioned. It's sad, really, but buying a console on it's launch date is never a good idea. First editions of consoles always have bugs, problems, issues, whatever. It's best to just wait until games are available for both the PS3 and Wii, which aren't launch titles.
