I think that DVD is a bootleg. I looked at the image and it looks very bootleg-ish. Whether it is or not, Samurai Pizza Cats is good stuff and I wish the entire series was available in DVD. Unfortunately, it's a tough sell. From a business standpoint, it's an obscure product that has too many episodes (49, if I remember right) to go into a standard "Complete Collection" set without it being really expensive, and there's no indication enough people would buy a first volume to warrant bringing out a second or a third. The fact that it's really good stuff might come third or fourth on the list of reasons to give it better treatment. Oh well...thank you, Internet.
Anyway, I was recently introduced to the goodness that is Read or Die and its various offspring. That seems to be how it always goes: I find out about stuff when it's long past. If anyone hasn't checked out R.O.D, at least get the OVA, as it has a very catchy score and lots of good stuff. R.O.D. the TV starts out slow, with a lot of filler, but gets really good really quick. |
