Default ITG for the PC (With ITG2 update)

(Note: This review is for the reader who is familiar with the ITG series. I do not explain certain modes, what ITG is, etc.)

So, here we are with ITG PC out(although it really doesn't feel like it), and me playing it. I have an extremely good feel for it and I've played it often since obtaining it, so I feel my review is from an experienced POV(Point of view).

Intro:
Finally, after much anticipation comes ITGPC. Many people have commented that this was a stupid move on RoXoR's part for making a PC version of this. "It's like Stepmania, but you have it pay for it," many have said. Well, let me tell you one thing, this game is worth every penny. The game features a smoother more sexy ITG 1 theme, and recently, an even sexier FREE release of the ITG2 theme and all songs from ITG2. Songs are not censored, and, there are some added expert charts to a few songs. It comes with Survival mode, Marathon, and Battle, and 3 ITG3 songs. What more could you ask for?

Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay rocks. Of course it's the typical 4 arrow setup and what have you, but with Battle, Marathon, and Survivor mode, this makes the gameplay EVEN more enjoyable. All the old ITG 1 Marathons are included, along with the ITG2 marathons, with all them crazy mods. The Survival courses are all here too, with the awesomeness attatched to it. Battle is the same as ever, but still fun. Oh, and like mentioned before, it has three ITG 3 songs, which add to the gameplay fun.

Why is this not a perfect 10/10? A few reasons:
1. I wish there were a custom Marathon option, where you were able to not only make your own course, but name it, and put in the crazy mods along with it.
2. There could have been more Survival courses.
3. Battle mode could sometimes be a little too easy against the one skilled computer. A difficulty option for the bot would have been nice.

Graphics: 9/10
It's arrows, but they're 3D, and it is extremely smooth. Not a glitch or lag in sight. Loading times have been dramatically reduced from it's previous loading times with ITG PS2. Backgrounds are also more smooth, and are nice.

Why is this not a 10/10? There is always room for improvement. Even with arrows.

Sounds: 9/10

This is an extremely opinionated section of my review, but, I love the music in ITG. I believe all of it is great, and fun. Although I love ITG songs, ITG2's soundtrack is FAR superior in diversity, and quality. Yes, they may be a TAD shorter, but there so much more inspired(or so it seems).

Stepcharts: 8/10

ITG1 has fantastic charts, are pretty bad charts. Some of the new changes to the steps are added expert steps to Land of The Rising Sun, Mellow, modified steps to Boogie Down, and Euphoria hard. I personally do not like the Land of the Rising Sun expert chart, nor the Euphoria hard and Boogie Down expert. I actually liked the original chart of Boogie Down much better. Mellow isn't bad. ITG2's charts are fantastic, but it also has its flaws. This is Rock & Roll has a fairly boring chart, and VetTex^2 is somewhat of a bullshit chart(even thought I FC'd it). The ITG3 charts I feel are really lacking. Frozen Fire expert is God-awful, and Disconnected Zeo's steps seem uninspired. Esperanza adds a twist, which I personally like. Music-wise ITG3 is nice, although DZeo is lacking, but I digress.

Now, to add to the so far fantasticness of ITGPC, finally, we get edit mode. Oh JOY! Edit mode. I LOVE it. I've made over 75 charts since I got it, and I'm loving it! Also, I previously mentioned that the ITG2 stuff was FREE, and was released just a few weeks after the actually game was released. Talk about a short wait. Also, stepmania.com put up an article on how to add your own Stepmania stuff on there. Since they're encouraging it, I feel it is an added feature, and adds to the greatness of this game.

Overall: 9/10

You'd be a fool not buying this if you're a fan of the series. As this MAY be the last ITG game out(I'm not going to get into that), this is an essential. Fantastic features, replayability is there, and will always be there, and it just kicks so much ass. Buy now!
