A few years back, we got a complimentary Red Velvet cake from a mail order gourmet foods company (because they kept sending catalogs to my deceased Grandfather, even after we asked them not to several times.) The circumstances that lead up to us getting this cake may have been crappy, but man, that cake was fantastic. Unfortunatly, Red Velvet cake is pretty hard to find around these parts.
