Consider the situation for Pump It Up, a game that involves licenses from South Korea almost exclusively, as well as for the occasional song from other part of the world:
The new song count for recent mixes have fluctuated between 20-40 new songs, so that PIU does not get nearly as many new songs per mix as IIDX, DDR, pop'n, etc. The reason for this? Getting licenses from artists associated with labels is expensive... so thus Andamiro cannot afford to put THAT many new K-Pop in a new mix.
Now, although Konami is a larger and richer company than Andamiro, it costs a LOT of money for licenses, as above posters have already stated... and there's just no reason to spend so much money on popular licenses with such a large amount of in-house artists with eclectic styles to choose from... not to mention cutting the budget for further development of IIDX. |
