I'm starting to get into VJing, and I was wondering if anyone knows the best app to use to produce videos that focus on and manipulate a central object rather than epileptic screensaver styles. Many apps only do the latter. i.e. best guess as to how the VJs for Beatmania invest in hard/software?

Videos that inspired my shifting tastes were Ixion, Soliton Beam, Acid Vision...

hmm I just noticed those are all L.E.D. songs.
