Episode 3:
Finally, it is a proper weekend. Akado soon realised that he really need to sort things out with Kyoichi. He has given much thought and he really feel guilty for ruining Kyoichi's treat.
So, Akado did what he knew was the right thing to do. He visited Kyoichi's apartment.
He knocked at the door. And then, Kyoichi opened the door.
"Hello there, Akado! What's bring you here? It is a Saturday morning."
"So sorry I didn't tell you in advance. Anyway, may I come in?"
"Of course! Unless you want to catch a cold."
"OK."
Akado entered the apartment. He and Kyoichi were clearing doubts that the both of them had.
"Kyoichi, about that day, I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way possible. I know that my actions have caused a lot of distress and property damaged. But I really..."
"OK. ok. I know, I know. However, I also need to apologise for saying such things bluntly. I'm really sorry that I brought up the past. And about the damage? Don't worry about it. I can pay for it, you know."
"So, does that mean that I need to pay for it?"
"No need. I have taken care of it. By the way, would you like to follow me to go for a game of Golf?"
"I would love to. However, I have some plans of my own, so I really need to go now. Maybe next time. Thanks anyway."
"The pleasure's all mine."
And so, Akado left the apartment to head on down to the public library.
Outside the public library, Haruka was waiting for Akado for 20 minutes.
"What took you so long?"
"Sorry, I was visiting an old friend."
"I see. But you are still late. So, you have to give me a treat!"
"Oh, alright. But please, don't pick something too expensive, okay?"
"Hmmm. Ok."
After that, they went inside the library to study.
After they have studied in the library, they went to a cafe to have their lunch. There, they chatted away while having their lunch.
"Haruka, may I ask?"
"Yes?"
"I noticed something perculiar. A few days ago, you walloped the gangsters with ease. However, last week, you were struggling with just one man. Care to explain?"
"Oh, that. I'm so sorry. I knew I was capable of handling the situation by myself. But I need to scream just to draw attention to myself."
"I see. Then, how did you fight? Did you take up Martial Arts lessons?"
"Um. Of course. I was taught by a cousin of mine, who is a Black-Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. However, she's in Japan right now, doing further studies."
"What is her profession?"
"History. Archaeology. She said she wants to be the best field researcher in Kyoto University."
"Maybe I can get to know her someday."
"Maybe. Anyway, do you want to go anywhere else?"
"How about the pier?"
"OK. Let's go!"
So, they hurried to the pier, where they can view the sea.
"Akado, may I ask? Why do you like the pier? It seems so boring to me."
"Haruka, Haruka. You know, this is where Miyuki and I first met. I mean not here as in here. But back at my hometown in Japan."
"Miyuki? Who is she?"
"She used to be my girlfriend. However, it is only for 3 years. Then we..."
Silence came and froze Akado.
"Akado? Akado? What's wrong? You guys broke up?"
"No..." He replied in a sad tone. "She passed away..." Akado begins to cry.
"I'm so sorry for your loss."
"It's ok." Wiping out his tears. "I have to tell you anyway."
"Don't worry. I'll be here for you, if you need someone by your side. It's OK to feel such feelings. This is because I have gone through the similar thing."
"What kind?"
"You see, I lost my brother when I was just 14. I couldn't bear it but I know it is the fact. So, it's ok to feel that way."
"Thank you, Haruka. I love you." Akado's words begin to slip from his mouth. He has said it unintentionally.
"Hmmm. I know it's too sudden, but I also felt it that way too. Come here."
Haruka and Akado then hugged each other. The mood was intense, but it is just a friendly hug. And the sun sets with a warm glow.
Later that night, Akado lay in bed, thinking about the event that happened just now. He knew that he has fallen for her. But he said it at the wrong time. No matter, Haruka felt the same way about him too. So, Akado can sleep peacefully, thinking about Haruka. |
