Well, as far as I know, and especially for vocalists, it seems Konamin only licenses them for a song (which occasionally Konami's in-house artists have written already, they just need lyrics and a lyricist) but they are still free to write and distribute their own independent music, as long as they don't use the same songs they helped to create for Konami.
A good example of this is Thomas Howard Lichenstein, who has his own website and creates his own albums without Konami backing, but unfortunately this means he also can't use songs like "Depend on Me" or "Stop Spinning Me in Circles," or "Silent Hill" unfortunately (at least as far as I know). |
