This isn't the end of the competition, of course, there's still the final round, though it's a bit simpler this time (no simfile-based challenge round).
Overall, I don't feel this was the best-run way to close the OSC name, and I will definately be working with a new co-admin by the time the next competition in this vein rolls around. Let's just say that if things happen as we are expecting behind the scenes, the results should be quite interesting.
But that's looking ahead. This topic's about the RESULTS, and, well, here they are. Quite interesting ones, in fact. However, in the name of getting them up, I'm not going to be spending as much time on them as I have in the past with HTML'izing and everything. Right now, I am tired and simply wish to get the results - in full - up.
Let me say that one of the reforms next time will be reintroducing the spreadsheets for judge scores. x_X;
For all the details, hit up:
http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/bong/results/
It's all neatly set up so you can see all the text (and HTML, and one XLS) files (including the_ditz's separate ones for every entry, and Lilina's monster review set of doom)
Note that one mistake was made in the rules, and a few more in the judgings themselves (one error by #Infinity was corrected, the others, in the name of getting this up reasonably on-time, were not hunted down). Judge modifiers are .5 for every .25 of difference, not 1 for every 2.5 (No one was that far out on a 1-10 scale!); this modification is applied to the Subtotal. However, this was not significant enough of a difference to change any positions.
Today's quickposting of the final winlist is brought to you by: forumboredom.com, where I'm going to be mostly hanging out for the next few months once all this is over!
Finalists - These six entries advance to the finals, no questions asked:
Blow Me Away
Karma
Know Your Xenemy
Love Tropicana
Mata Hari
Metal Queen
Wildcarders - Two of these six entries will get to advance to the final round, but they'll have to earn their way up, and this time around the test isn't going to be a simfile either!
Doctor Pressure
Ichirin no Hana
Kiss Kiss
September
V35
Votum Stellarum
Congratulations to our six excellent finalists. Given I wasn't too impressed by Blow Me Away, I was rather surprised to see it up there, but then again, that's why we have five opinions on the judge panel, right? The Wildcarders also are enjoyable and fine entries which contribute positively to this competition - you'll get your second shot at the finals soon enough.
I apologize for the overall disaster that DDR OSC ~Beta of New Generation~ has been (at least in my opinion), and I've already noted a few things that don't work and some that do.
