Rapid-fire as cheating? I don't know. It is easier, and Twin Galaxies is right in listing rapid-fire scores separately from regular scores, but still...having played both, and admittedly done a lot better on the former (because there are more of those around) I'd say the advantage is there, but not game-breaking. You still have to be good at Galaga to get into triple-digit stages. What rapid-fire helps with is letting you be lazy about timing because you'll get to fire more missiles, and you don't have to be as good at dodging, because on early stages there might be a grand total of four or five enemies left to descend and fire.
To be fair, though, I will submit some scores from the regular machine. I think there are one or two left in town.
BTW, awesome time on Deja Vu! I could do that with Shadowgate, but I never even beat Deja Vu before the cartridge died. |
