GUITAR HERO II TOURNAMENT RULES

• Entry fee: $5

• Prizes will be based on attendance and total sponsorship package (still unknown). The cash pot will be split as follows:
o 1st - 70%
o 2nd - 20%
o 3rd - 10%

• Qualifier: ****** –Expert difficulty.  This will be revealed at the tournament.

• The tournament will be Double Elimination.

• The tournament will be conducted using a non-hacked copy of Guitar Hero II in Pro-Face-Off mode.

• Hyper Speed cheat IS allowed as long as both players consent to its use. All other cheats are banned.

• All performance altering guitar modifications are banned. This includes foot pedals, rubber banned buttons, etc.

• ‘Free Bird’ is banned until bracket finals.

• A player may only choose a song once during the elimination rounds of the tournament.

• Scoring is based on a five tier tiebreak system. PERCENTAGE is the first tiebreaker (T1). In the event of a tie, judging will move on to the next tiebreaker.
o T1 – Percentage
o T2 – Total Notes Hit
o T3 – Score
o T4 – Streak
o T5 – Coin flip (best 2 of 3)

• All pre-finals matches will be played as a best 2 of 3 series. The player not selecting the song chooses difficulty.
o Song 1- chosen by higher seeded player.
o Song 2 - chosen by lower seeded player.
o Song 3 - chosen at random on hard difficulty unless both players agree to play the song on expert.

• Winners Bracket Finals, Losers Bracket Finals, and Grand Finals will all be played as a best 3 of 5 series. All songs MUST be played on expert difficulty.
o Song 1 – chosen by higher seeded player.
o Song 2 – chosen by lower seeded player.
o Song 3 – chosen by higher seeded player.
o Song 4 – chosen by lower seeded player if a winner has not already been decided.
o Song 5 – chosen at random if a winner has not already been decided.
