On-topic: since you ARE in fact using firefox, do you have Adblock installed?
Edit: and also, if adblock doesn't work, maybe try Opera web browser: Homepage I think Opera is a better browser than Firefox, I've been using it for about 4 solid years now and I don't get adware, spyware, viruses, unwanted popups, anything.
