i'd love to see an IIDX machine at rocky's, being a smoker and all. below are my two cents.
in all honesty, i don't think a IIDX machine will do well financially. in the beginning of bemani's popularity states-side, games like DDR had an advantage over other arcade games by having a completely unique approach to its presentation, and this helped draw people in. of course, IIDX has similarly unique hardware, but with the learning curve being as high as it is in comparison to DDR, i don't foresee it bringing in a comparable player base.
for what it's worth, there're lots of IIDX players in and around orlando! i think both audity and kaze live there now, who are two of the best players in the US. there are plenty more than just those two, though. if rocky's were to get a IIDX machine, i think they could expect to see a constant flow of traffic on the machine, but i don't know if paying it off would be that easy.
