in all honesty, i don't think a IIDX machine will do well financially. in the beginning of bemani's popularity states-side, games like DDR had an advantage over other arcade games by having a completely unique approach to its presentation, and this helped draw people in. of course, IIDX has similarly unique hardware, but with the learning curve being as high as it is in comparison to DDR, i don't foresee it bringing in a comparable player base.
for what it's worth, there're lots of IIDX players in and around orlando! i think both audity and kaze live there now, who are two of the best players in the US. there are plenty more than just those two, though. if rocky's were to get a IIDX machine, i think they could expect to see a constant flow of traffic on the machine, but i don't know if paying it off would be that easy. |
Yeah, I see what you mean. But I was talking to the owner and showed him some videos of people playing it and a photo of what the machine looks like. I even told him that "You don't have to be an expert to play this, start from beginner mode and work your way up." I even told the owner if you're not good with having the disc on the left side you can always play on the right side. He's still thinking about it , because he said he can probably get a Happy Sky IIDX Machine .
Edit:
Yeah i know the traffic will be long. But I know that they will get their money after buying this machine. So long as there are players in Orlando, i mean c'mon I know there has to be alot of players who have the Happy sky CS who have been waiting for a machine at rockys replay.
