I'm not bashing the ideas, I'm simply saying they don't fit.
Here's the story with that old thread. It was never locked, I was never called on it, and I don't think the moderators cared, in fact I believe I remember a mod posting within it. It listed a link to a *.zip which contained the *.crs file for my marathon SIDology along with the three songs which it pertained to.
Like I said, I believe that it was within that thread that a discussion ensued with dieKatze, within which we discussed that making thread posts about new marathons (i.e. ITGFreak style) may be inappropriate here and that he would be pursuing a solution to the problem because he too felt that courses and marathons were a massively overlooked feature in this community.
The ENTIRE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD was really to reach out to a moderator for the purpose of finding out if any such solution has been sought. I don't mind discussing it here. But the fact of the matter is that as dieKatze and I discussed it I actually had a small solution. The fear within the moderative minds here about the concept is, as stated before, things such as posting marathons/courses for the sole purpose of adverting one's sims or the posting of official stuff.
I can address both of these pretty easily.
#1, a shit ass course won't be advertising much, so courses could not possibly be mass produced for this purpose, it would be just as much work to produce a course as it would be to make two or three more sims (if it's a good one).
#2, it would make official stuffs no more or less protected from the database. Honestly, if one was inclined to, they could upload a crapload of official files under the guise of whatever name they wanted. Sure, it would probably be eventually found out, removed, and the user would see some consequences. The situation would be no different with this.
Honestly, this concept is probably pretty null here the DB way or even my way as this community obviously doesn't have much of an interest for courses, this isn't quite the same kind of community as ITGFreak. Which is not a bad thing, I'm a bit more comfortable when the "elites" are not over 60% of the community.
But like I said, I was really just asking the mods if they'd looked into the concept anymore than just that convo with dieKatze, nothing more.
Also like I said, hiryuu, I'm not saying what I'm saying with intent to piss people off. I'm just a bit of a wiseass and that's just how I word things. I meant no offense, don't take it so personally, if I have offended you I apologize, but take please take it differently next time as this is just the way I work.
