I don't think that Earth is the only planet with life on it, but if there are civilizations so advanced beyond our technology, I really doubt they would have any interest in us. If they can travel light-years in short spans of time, why would they come to Earth to hang out with civilizations that kill each other to prove their religion is more peaceful? Well if there's any race that's at our level or beyond , don't you think they would have SOME interest in us? Think about it, if humans discovered intelligent life, you can bet we'd try to go at least try to check them out. An entirely new planet of different exciting cultures to learn from, probably based off of an entirely separate evolutionary path.

It's fun to think about in a fantasy/Sci-Fi nerdgasm sort of way - They may have made first contact with earth when we weren't nearly as advanced as we are now, and they've just been keeping an eye on us. There could very well be SOME sort of strange truth to some of the ancient cultural references to extra terrestrials
