My question is this: he has already mod'd his PS2, meaning he is willing to open it up. Why not offer the ability to fix the PS2 instead of looking for a new one?
Specifically: can anyone figure out what would be the solution to the "yes" option in above quote. Would there have to be a laser swap? Or would adjusting the laser/ general cleaning with qtip/air can work? Given the fact that PS3 are now not backwards compatible, we are gonna have to learn to be PS2 savvy/hoards to keep these old styles working.
