Don't worry, the brake has nothing to do with the sensors, it's completely mechanical. The only thing activating the disk brake is a small piece of plastic attached to the inside of the lid, no sensors cause the brake to trigger. Just jam a bit of tissue or whatever into it so it doesn't grind against your disk while your lid is open.
