I don't think there's really any advice that isn't common sense - if you want to get better keep challenging yourself. You have to play for hours and hours every day to be able to compete with the folks who enter tournaments - and they've got years worth of experience under their belts so it's gonna be tough to catch up. Really, the big thing is don't take shortcuts - learn crossovers instead of double-stepping, don't use C-mods, play with mines and hands on -- all of these techniques will help your body develop new ways to pivot and position yourself for the harder (10+) songs.
