Luck. It's how I get most of my material. No searches or anything; I just let my various outlets accumulate material and I comb out the good stuff once in a while. In this case, one source led me to the Wondermark page and I had a new favorite webcomic without any effort. For this particular strip, I read through the archives a long time ago and remembered that there was a relevant strip I thought you might like. I never use image search engines and generic terms to find new material. That would leave me with too much material to audit, almost all of it being material I wish I hadn't found.
[Edit]I would estimate that only 9% of my material comes from Bemanistyle.
