If you complete adventure mode, then you'll get a TON of points. I forgot if the points are converted the first time around (i.e. ratioed down), but I know after that, if you go back on the map after finishing it will unlock new areas, and all the points you get are 1:1. Those two are unlocked through points, with Soroban being the last one to get.
