It's not
that bad really.
All I need to do to know how to fix it when things break for whatever reason is read the diff.
Or just do what I did before, being figure it out (I don't memorize a damn thing). They take about the same amount of time usually.
edit: also it's totally possible to build a house on quicksand if you do it right
