Saw it twice in theater. It is indeed pretty amusing, though Helena Bonham Carter's singing leaves much to be desired (ie: she does not enunciate and her voice is quite weak). The movie was obviously done with the intent of acting being the focus, though, but I still wish then had gotten a few actual singers to voice over the main actors at relevant points. I suppose Johnny Depp was a decent singer, nonetheless. The kid who played Toby impressed me greatly, though.
I meant to go see the broadway version of the musical, but it didn't happen because of schooling. |
