I don't have a link offhand, but if you liked EEE, it was originally based off of the PC game Every Extend. The original was fairly small scale and lacks all the trippy effects, but it's a good amount of fun. And it's free.
As far as trippy colours go, there Audiosurf. It's $10 and from Steam comes with the Orange Box Soundtrack, which is a nice touch. It's a triptastic rhythm game that you give it a song and it generates the stage from the music. There are multiple "characters" so to speak, being difficulty levels and different playstyles. Since it uses your own music collection, the possibilities and replay values are nearly endless.
