There's nothing really 'controversial' about a DJ playing a premade set. Technically, you're still a DJ whether or not you're spinning a set live. however, playing a prerecorded set does mean you have no talent as a DJ.
It's pretty easy to tell, they'll just stand there dancing around while occasionally turning a knob or two, which won't affect it much because there's not much you can do to something that's preset.
