Guess it's a personal thing/preference.
IMHO though, I prefer that ALL cars have a standard screen/monitor in all variants and in all specifications. It works better that way for me (see BMW 5er and Audi A5/S5 where the idrive and MMI respectively have standard screens installed).
I also think that this is true for high-end Nissans in Japan as well as for Infiniti vehicles. Lexus though is seeming relucatant to do this move. Heck I've even seen a 3rd gen Lexus LS that doesn't have the touchscreen as standard (my god, flagship car with base model features yuck)
Anyway that's just my opinion.
In the case of the GTR though, the screen and the menus and functions it houses all play an integral part of the vehicle itself. The real-time info and monitoring features are real cool as well.

Nope, not really.
