This is a disappointment for me now too. I bet we were all kicked in the face when we knew about the XBOX360 project planner all along and now this, it was such a misleading move.. Especially when they said they were thinking about working with Microsoft or Nintendo. Well, they DID say they needed someone with arcade experience, but to be honest, I wasn't paying too much attention to that.. Arcade games really isn't my niche and are awfully expensive and godly to maintain.. Not to mention also hard to find, T_T even if it does come to the U.S.
I can't believe there going back into Arcade though, but that's where the money is for them. They'll have to revamp the entire play-system, after what happened with Beatmania and EZ2DJ.. I think that was a.. bad move?
I like CS versions because you can play them WHENEVER, however. You want your DJMAX now? You got it, just pop it in.. for a party, "DJMAX TECHNIKA" on some CS would've rocked. DJMAX Portable 2 sold the PSP to me (only game I LIKE to play on PSP), and it would've done the same with another system (just to play that game).
Right now, it looks like "will they export?" is a no. Although most of the songs do have english lyrics, I think there is possibility to export (since Pentavision owns ALL the songs, no copyright / licensing issues at all if they chose to).. Just like DJMAX Portable 2 was, they saw that market and that appeal, it's not super wide though. Even though they had an international version, they didn't exactly market it.
Technika deserves it's own topic since it's only ONE of the games in the DJMAX METRO series. Some people say that there will be more games, but I think they'll all be arcade unfortunately.. *kick *kick *kick*** In the end, I really hope DJMAX gets the popularity it deserves around the globe because that's the only way we might see more.
