I used to play on an HDTV with decent scores but that was because I was used to the lag.
When moved to playing on a CRT TV my timing was COMPLETE ass for a while.
However, I then adjusted my timing to the CRT TV and my timing improved greatly being able to score high on many songs.
Maybe you're just too used to the lag.
I know many people who get sick ass scores on a laggy ass TV at "home" and then go to a Troopers machine at Arcade Infinity with shitty performance. The troopers machine at AI has little lag if not any at all.
