I use the bar all the time, but mainly because of the speed mods I use. If I go barless, I have to use a lower speed mod since I cannot react as quickly for turns or crossovers. Even the easy NM charts in PIU can have tricky and/or sudden pad transitioning, and sometimes DDR doubles are even more awkward. The pad-crossing isn't as weird as the ones in PIU, but they are A LOT more frequent from my experiences.
Since I play doubles more than singles nowadays, the bar is a necessary evil for a majority of the songs I play. |
