I don't quite know what you're asking here. The 360's network adapter will pick up any wireless network, permitted that it is not 802.11n (as far as I know- they may have updated it). Also, what deathrazor said. The wireless network adapter is kind of a ripoff.

Don't treat your console like shit? I've had my Xbox for just under 2 years now, and I haven't done anything specific to prevent the RRoD. It's seen its fair share of use, so either I'm really lucky or it's not hard to keep a 360 from dying.

If you select a picture for a wallpaper from a portable storage device, it is immediately transferred over to the Xbox. As far as movies and music, just keep them on the flash drive. Now that you can install games to the HDD, you're gonna want the extra space.
