I have a DesktopArcade controller and a set of lights for the controller. I'm following this page as a guide. Ransai :: View topic - Installing your own lightkit.

What I don't get is where the ground should be connected to. If I connect it to ground on the controller then it'll likely feed all the currect down through the ps2 and the - on the battery won't be connected so the lights won't work.

But if i connect it to -ve on the battery then the ground won't be connected on the controller and so it won't switch.
Can anyone help me?

EDIT: I guess I should've mentioned that I'm obviously using a battery instead of a power supply
