I'll give general advice here, nothing related to any patch or crack...

I would say to double check and make sure that your computer is able to see your keyboard and that you have the cables hooked up properly - midi in -> midi out and midi out ->midi in from your keyboard.

Another thing to try after hooking up your keyboard to the computer and turning it on, is go into Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices and then go to the Audio tab. Make sure your keyboard is selected for the bottom item Midi Playback Device. Also check the check box for Use Only Default Devices, and then give it a try.
