So I got RMClock and am trying out undervolting, and it's reduced the idle temperature by a drastic amount, although it's still hovering at 45 celsius/111 fahrenheit. Although when I use something somewhat CPU intensive the heat doesn't dissipate very quickly. Probably a combination of what DieKatze said and some sort of dust buildup, but probably more the former.
