The energy efficiency of solar panels has to improve dramatically (current panels only max out at 20% efficiency which is slightly less than the energy efficiency internal combustion engines).

Hence, till that happens (when solar panel efficiency reaches at least 50%), then nuclear power is the way to abundant energy (that is cost-effective yet still low-polluting)

*Provided that the nuclear power plant is the latest with all the technological and safety features (even newer than Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors or newer)
