hey cool its this thread again

and since you cant search on the word "ps3" itself i cant find anything more recent than about a year ago or longer

IIDX 14 GOLD CS should have a PS2 and a PS3 version.
What will happen once the PS3 comes?

lets review the basic facts quick and dirty

1- the iidx series sells like shit

granted theres very few videogames made today which dont sell like shit unless it has a nintendo or squarenix logo on the box but konami has budgeted iidx to where the sales it gets are acceptable

changing the platform would probably reduce those sales

2- the ps3 sells like shit

the ps3 is this generations gamecube if not worse in terms of how many people buy them

putting a niche series on a platform that nobody owns makes zero econmic sense which is the only sense konami cares about as with any other company

3- theres no need to change platforms

iidx in arcades uses standard taito x2 hardware and has nothing going on in game which the ps2 cant handle

beatmania iidx is doing the same thing now as it has since 1999 and putting the home versions on the ps3 would add no benefit because the newer hardware capabilities given over the ps2 would not be used and theres no way konami would make any hypothetical ps3 version do things better than a given ac version because theres no sales incentive to do so

im just some guy at a keyboard so its not like i really have any idea what konamis executives are thinking but i believe that theres no logical reason to put iidx on ps3 and im pretty sure they feel the same way
