I'll try my best to answer this but judging from what you said, the success of your gaming experience on a PC monitor will have to depend on the PC monitor itself. If it is a CRT monitor, then the response should be spot on.
If it's is LCD, well.........that would depend on the response time of your monitor which is measured in milliseconds (and more importantly is not based on grey-to-grey measurements fyi).
