I've passed half the 42s. Been playing pop'n music for around 2.5 years. Before then I had my hands in DDR/ITG and Drummania. Right now I'm switching off between Pop'n music and IIDX right now (which I just started playing for real real).

What helps me get better is when new mixes come out. It allows me access to new songs and styles of difficulty and usually the time it takes to unlock the game makes a great improvement in my skill when I go back to the older games.

My initial progression through the game was pretty fast at first but drastically slowed down after FEVER CS came out. This was due to no new CS mixes being released, school, moving, roommates, girlfriend, life, stuff, excuses.

Playing IIDX is improving my skills in pop'n music. The two games go together quite nice.
