For example, I hadn't played for 2 weeks and tried to play Hashire! Scooter EX. My record on that is like a 98k, it's also an easy 38. I got an 89k with hella goods.

This is very true if you don't actively play a different game (with timing windows - GH/RB won't work as well!) on the side. The tighter the timing, the better ('sup IIDX, DJ Max, DDR/derivatives with Marv timing).
