Anyways, they should've done that same move for their franchise operations here in the Philippines. If that were to happen, then it would've obviously served to boost sales and more importantly recognition as a fastfood chain operating here in RP (since they were a newcomer back then).
Unfortunately, they abandoned their Philippine operations around two years ago (since they didn't get enough profits and recognition in the face of strong competition from the likes of Mcdonalds, Jollibee, KFC and even Wendy's & Burger King). It's too bad but oh well life goes on.
P.S.
Quite interestingly, they still operate a franchise at Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 2 Skyplaza and boy the quality of the food there is really at its best (in-line with quality of the original Popeye fastfood restaurants in America
)
