it could just be the laser going bad. i've had 2 problems with it. 1 was with a model 15000 JPS2. 9 years of gaming takes a toll on the laser, then using swap magic with a 75000 slim PS2, had the same problem, guessing the laser couldn't read the disc right. same problem with the song freezing mid song.
you can open the flip top and manually stop the disc and let it spin again, sometimes that works. but you risk damaging the motor. i suggest saving up and getting a newer JPS2 probably from the marketplace here since it's cheaper. thats what i did and everything works flawlessly. |
