V3 is a very easy mix without e-amuse if we're only talking the songs new to that mix. All of the real difficult pieces came out after the initial release.
Zenith, Purple Storm, and El Dorado were about it on the base game.
V4 had Leaving All Behind, Nemesis, and 5-10, Mascarada, Jake in the Box, Strike Party, Revolution, and Zig Zag Life in addition to all the unlocks that were on V3 (around 7 harder songs), so I'd argue that out of the box V4 was a much harder mix.
Also, I can see both sides to the discussion regarding the new first stage policy, but I really think it was a good move for at least newcomers. To me, I'd rather see 10 more people come to like GFdm and have a few of the top-tier folks get irked about some dork practicing the same song for their first each time than have a bunch of noobs get owned by a song out of their range and then decide the game is jankety. Listening to TTFaF is much better than hearing "Stage Failed" and some kid curse at a game they hardly know about. :P |
